Abstract Summary

A 12-year study in China found that air pollution significantly increases cardiovascular and cerebrovascular death risk. Every 10 µg/m³ increase in PM10 raised cardiovascular mortality by 55% and stroke deaths by 49%. Women, nonsmokers, and underweight individuals showed greater vulnerability to pollution effects.
