New research reveals that mycophenolic acid levels in children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome correlate with beneficial shifts in cellular fatty acids—increasing anti-inflammatory omega-3s while decreasing omega-6s. This favorable ratio may enhance the drug’s therapeutic effects. However, steroid-resistant patients showed no such benefit, suggesting different disease mechanisms at play.
