Abstract Summary

Researchers developed a tissue compartment analysis (TCA) method to overcome sample heterogeneity challenges in gene profiling. Using kidney biopsies, they demonstrated that structural composition varies dramatically (5-95%) between samples. TCA standardizes gene expression data without special sample preparation, enabling detection of subtle disease markers previously masked by tissue variability—applicable to existing libraries and valuable for clinical diagnostics.

Why Brain? 🧠

This method corrects for tissue heterogeneity in gene expression studies, enabling detection of disease biomarkers previously masked by varying cell compositions in samples like kidney biopsies.
