Carcinogenic microorganisms hijack the host’s ubiquitin-proteasome system to drive cancer development. HPV, HBV, HCV, EBV, and KSHV employ distinct strategies—degrading tumor suppressors, evading immune surveillance, and activating growth pathways through ubiquitin modifications. Non-viral agents like H. pylori also exploit these mechanisms. Understanding this shared strategy offers promising targets for precision cancer therapies.
