Abstract Summary

Guinea hospitals show concerning antibiotic overuse: 35% of patients receive antibiotics, rising to 83% for inpatients. Nearly all prescriptions (99.4%) are given empirically without lab testing. While 64% are WHO-recommended “Access” antibiotics, 33% are “Watch” category drugs requiring careful use. Urgent antimicrobial stewardship needed.
