Abstract Summary

Elevated blood urea nitrogen-to-creatinine ratio (BUCR) independently predicts 28-day mortality in ICU ischemic stroke patients, according to a study of 2,702 cases. Each unit increase in BUCR raised death risk by 1.4%. This simple biomarker could help clinicians identify high-risk stroke patients early, addressing previous controversies about its prognostic value.

Why Brain? ๐Ÿง

Higher blood urea nitrogen-to-creatinine ratio independently predicts 28-day mortality in ICU ischemic stroke patients, offering a simple biomarker to identify high-risk cases requiring intensive monitoring.
