Abstract Summary

Chromogranin A (CgA), a neuroendocrine protein, shows promise as a novel biomarker for PCOS. This study found significantly elevated serum CgA levels in 75 PCOS patients versus controls (935 vs. 642 pg/mL). Higher CgA correlated independently with obesity, insulin resistance, and inflammation—key metabolic risk factors in PCOS. These findings suggest CgA could help stratify metabolic risk in PCOS patients.

Why Brain? 🧠

Chromogranin A levels are significantly elevated in PCOS patients and independently linked to obesity, insulin resistance, and inflammation, suggesting potential as a novel biomarker for metabolic risk assessment.
