Meta-analysis of 13 studies (1,304 patients) reveals adjuvant treatment significantly reduces recurrence after non-curative endoscopic resection of superficial esophageal cancer compared to observation alone (OR=3.25). Lymphovascular invasion emerged as a key recurrence risk factor. Surgery and chemoradiotherapy showed comparable efficacy, offering flexible treatment options.
