Percutaneous closure using Perclose Proglide® devices shows promising results for VA-ECMO decannulation, with 93% success rate and minimal complications. Analysis of 418 patients revealed low rates of limb ischemia (2.5%), infection (1%), and pseudoaneurysm (1.1%), significantly improving upon traditional surgical methods that carried higher risks of bleeding and infection.
