Abstract Summary
In ACS patients undergoing PCI, elevated troponin T levels predict mortality much more strongly in those with impaired kidney function (HR 3.63) than in those with preserved function (HR 1.40). This interaction suggests risk stratification should integrate both renal function and troponin levels to identify high-risk patients needing intensive monitoring.
Why Brain? ðŸ§
Troponin T predicts death risk differently in ACS patients based on kidney function. In those with impaired kidneys, elevated troponin strongly predicts mortality; in normal kidney function, it mainly predicts ischemic events.
