Abstract Summary
A minimally invasive spine surgery technique shows promise for treating cauda equina syndrome. This study of 51 patients found that non-pressurized percutaneous endoscopic discectomy achieved similar medium-term outcomes to traditional fusion surgery, but with faster short-term recovery and less early pain. The approach offers a potential alternative for this devastating spinal condition.
Why Brain? ðŸ§
Minimally invasive endoscopic disc removal shows faster early recovery than spinal fusion for cauda equina syndrome, with similar mid-term results, offering a less invasive treatment option.
