Abstract Summary
Women play a crucial role in voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) programs. A study in Kenya’s Nyanza Province found that while women had heard about VMMC’s partial HIV protection, their understanding varied. However, targeted messaging significantly improved comprehension. Many women discussed VMMC with partners and jointly decided on the procedure, suggesting they’re key influencers in men’s health decisions.
