Abstract Summary

Study reveals 15d-PGJ2, a natural PPARγ agonist, significantly reduces atherosclerotic lesions in mice fed a Western diet. The compound decreased inflammatory markers (MCP-1, TNF-α, MMP-9) and macrophage expression in arterial plaques. This first-ever in vivo demonstration suggests 15d-PGJ2 could offer a promising therapeutic approach for treating atherosclerosis.

Why Brain? 🧠

Natural PPARγ agonist 15d-PGJ2 reduces atherosclerotic plaques in mice by suppressing inflammation and macrophage activity, offering potential as a novel therapeutic approach for atherosclerosis.
