Abstract Summary

Hypertensive patients with severe renal artery stenosis (≥70%) show significantly higher rates of coronary artery disease, even without angina symptoms. In this study of 82 patients, renal stenosis was an independent predictor of severe coronary disease (OR: 11.48), present in 66% of cases. Findings suggest dual angiography should be considered when investigating renal artery stenosis in hypertensive patients.

Why Brain? 🧠

Hypertensive patients with severe renal artery stenosis have 11-fold higher risk of significant coronary disease, even without chest pain, suggesting both arteries should be screened together.
