Abstract Summary
Post-stroke fatigue affects survival but remains poorly understood. This UK study of 1,080 stroke patients found that female sex, older age, and lower mental health scores were associated with greater fatigue 64 weeks post-stroke, yet explained less than 30% of variance. Importantly, fatigue predicted reduced long-term survival in some models, highlighting the need to identify its biological basis.
Why Brain? ðŸ§
Post-stroke fatigue affects survival and is linked to age, sex, and mental health, but underlying causes remain unclear, highlighting need for further research into fatigue mechanisms.
