Study of 210 carotid stenting procedures found that 5.7% developed significant in-stent restenosis, mostly within the first year. Higher post-procedure white blood cell counts, longer stent length, and narrower stent width were key risk factors. Findings suggest both inflammatory response and stent geometry contribute to restenosis risk after carotid artery stenting.
