Abstract Summary
Researchers compared kidney function estimation methods in 207 potential donors and 108 post-donation patients. Before donation, the CKD-EPI equation most accurately predicted kidney function, especially when function exceeded 90 mL/min. However, after donation, the MDRD equation performed better in single-kidney patients.
Why Brain? ðŸ§
Study compares kidney function tests in donors before/after donation. CKD-EPI equation works best pre-donation, but MDRD equation is more accurate post-donation for monitoring single-kidney function.
